We have an Action Garage door and the operating manual says to have it serviced professionally yearly, but I was hoping we could save some money and do it ourselves. It is suppose to be a relatively quiet garage door but it has been sounding pretty squeaky lately. Can anyone help?

by all meams do not use grease becauseit gets to thick in the winter time.you want to spray the hindges, rollers.track, the closeing track and chain change the lite bulb[s]clean the two sensors at the bottem of the track .adjust the sensitivity of the closing pressure .you check it by putting a roll of paper towels under the door .and when the door meets the roll it should back up.if it doesent then there is a adjusting screw on the closer .this is the most inportant be cause you dont want it to close on a kid or dog.that would happen only if the sensers were disconnected.also use a good silicone based spray for the lube process ..........................good luck

Use 3 in 1 oil to lubricate hinges on all panels. If you have a torsion spring above your door (long spring right above the door header) you can also oil the coils in the springs. Put some grease on the chain and sprocket. * Also your cables that are attached to the bottom of each end of your door - They pivot on a pin - make sure you put some grease right on this pivot pin. Check all roller brackets and tighten up any loose bolts on them.
