i have a is 300 , 2001 and the gas pin is not running...any help or advice?????i fill the gas but it still shows red

okay i haven't try hitting it yet but i will. to the person who suggested that what kind of car was yours? what is the sender sum1 was mentioning?

My car did that and I just hit the dash and then it started working...did you try that?
My vehicle is a Ford, but I've had this problem in a Chevrolet and Dodge before too.

It sounds as though this is not a "fix it yourself" thing. The bottom line may be that you have to take it in for service to a privately owned garage, or dealership for fixing.
I don't see a way around that. Knowing what's wrong won't help you if you can't fix it yourself. Take it in!

check the sending unit for short unplug and see if it moves and look for corrision on plug you may need a new sender
