I have at least 20 single socks. Do washing mashines eat socks? Or do they get blown away when I hang them to dry? I really can't afford to lose any more socks.

hehehe, we all have this very problem. Go to the dollar store and get a little bag made of netting. Stick all the socks in them and zip it up. Wash and dry your socks in them. Use the same bag for awhile, make sure you're not rusting the zipper. Buy a new one every time it seems to start getting rusty. Good Luck! =0)

LOL

This is a universal mystery. I tell my husband that they go to sock heaven. I also started buying patterned socks, hoping to keep track of what is going on.

Seriously, I started keeping a small basket near my dryer and every time of find a "lonely" sock, it gets tossed in there. If you use a laundry, keep the sock separately in a little basket at home.

Be interesting to see what happends after a month or so.

Go to Linens & things or Bed Bath & beyond, Maybe wallmart or target not sure. and buy a mesh bag that you put the socks in and put in the washer, Now when you hang them out hope it not a windy day.

Its a conspiracy by the Sock Consortium to make us buy more socks. I wish I knew where those "other" socks went to. I have a pile of 'em and can't find their mates. Its just weird.

Well I was going to say that it was the dryer could suck them up but either the hose in the washer or the wind is taking your socks away.
