Because you are close minded and prejudiced. And belonging to a minority group you should be more accepting and open. Although you may have not been subjected to prejudice, if you get outside of your house then you know that prejudice is alive and well in the world today. You may have some issues that you are not even aware of that gives you cause for concern. Have you ever spent time with someone who is gay? If you would, you may find a friend for life, someone who is intelligent, caring and has opinions and ideas that you had not even thought of. Give something or someone a chance you may learn something that will help you be a better person. By the way so you know this is not a biased opinion, I am not gay. If there were less prejudice there would be less violence against one another.

To begin with, as for what's wrong with YOU: If you feel empowered enough to ask that question publicly on a heavily-trafficked web site, you probably should look inside yourself and ask why you lack the ability to self-censor. And read a few books, it might help you write a coherent sentence.

As for what's wrong with not liking gays, it should be self-explanatory, but I'll spell it out for you: People who are gay are human beings too and deserve respect. Anyone who chooses to focus their hatred on any sub-cultural group, not just gays, is betraying their own human capacity for compassion and self-determination.

No one chooses a gay life. It is filled with danger and life threatening situations, including violence born of bigotry. Gay people are simply people. Most do not want attention, they want to be treated as anyone else in society. They have a right to that, as do you, as do we all. Love is always the answer and you know this much is true. Peace.

I used to feel the same way. But you remember what Chris Rock said, "Whoever you don't like is gonna end up in your family. If you don't like Hispanics, your daughter is gonna come home with Livin La Vida Loca. If you don't like gays, you'll end up with a gay son, niece, or at least a cousin." It happened to me and it changed my entire outlook. They're still people. And maybe it's not everyone's cup of tea and you're entitled to that. Just like that person is entitled to live their lives. We live in a new day and age. All previous taboos and exploits are being broken. I like it. It allows me to open up and be me without inhibitions. Think about it my man. Think about it.

I'm going to give you the same answer I have seen most others give you. It would be like someone asking "I don't like blacks, what is wrong with that". African Americans spent hundreds of years fighting against hatred, prejudice, violence, death, segregation, etc etc etc. Even when they were given their freedom, some people still said..."but I don't like them, what is wrong with that" and continued to treat them with contempt. To this day, because of people who say, "I don't like blacks, what's wrong with that" our African American children and families still face racism and hatred. An incredible man once said..."I have a dream that one day my children will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." You, buy saying "I don't like gays..." are doing the same thing that Martin Luther King dreamed would stop...judging someone by "the color of their skin" and not the content of their character. Maybe you should go back and read about what hatred because of differences can do to a society. Might I suggest Schindlers List or Roots as two great movies to start with. Might I also suggest that you search the web for information regarding "gay bashing" and the deaths and horrors carried out against these people because somebody asked the same question..."I don't like gays, what's wrong with that". As long as your opinion and choice does not cause you to treat persons you do not like with contempt hatred and cause you to carry out acts of violence or contempt for this group of people, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but if this opinion causes you to treat them with disrespect or contempt "just because they are gay" then that is where you would be in the wrong. I don't like George W. Bush, but I'm not going to go try and take a swing at the man!!!

What is "wrong" with it (depending on who you ask, of course) is that you're condemning a whole collection of people who have nothing in common except their sexual preference, which most of them did not choose. It's like saying you don't like black people. Now, if you say that you don't like flambouyant gays or wimpy gays, then that's a different thing; that's like saying you don't like people who think too highly of themselves; then it's just a behavior that annoys you.

There's nothing shameful about not liking 'gays". Just
remember this, there's plenty of gays out there that don't
like you for any number of reasons.Maybe they don't
like your personality,or what you do for a living,or
the way you comb your hair. There's too many people
claiming that gays are holier than thou saints with no
imperfections.

Hate the sin, not the sinner! The knuckelhead comment above me made a black white racist issue out of your question. Being gay does not have anyything to do with being black white, red . It is not a race it is a SIN! It's is also a lifestyle choice.

I think it is okay to not like people sometimes. Everone is entitled to their own opinion. BUT you shouldn't treat people poorly becuase of it. That would be an action, not a thought. This would be discrimination. Bad Bad Bad!
