Despite the mythology that being married fulfills all of your sexual needs, often a male (or female) still wants -- if not needs -- the experience of solo sex. Masturbation is a totally different way of expressing sexuality. Your partner was sitting alone in a private room for a good reason. Some wanted to be by themselves, enjoying masturbation.
So it is common with many married men or men having girl friends.

Alright? I believe it's essential to variety. I wouldn't give up sex for anything, but sometimes, masturbating is just nicer; you don't have to worry about pleasing anyone but yourself and you know what works for you.

Personally, I've enjoyed mutual masturbation with some of my exes (single at the moment), and that worked out wonderfully. I absolutely think it's OK to masturbate in a relationship. It's better than cheating.

Just don't give up sex with your wife/girlfriend because that would be a problem.

Oh, and if your wife/girlfriend has a problem with it, she's insecure. She should know that she's better than your hand, and make sure that if she says something that you tell her that she's better; you just want a change of pace now and then, and I don't think anyone can blame you for that.

Absolutely it's alright.

My wife and I both pleasure ourselves, in addition to getting plenty of intercourse. We enjoy all forms of sexual pleasure, and masturbation is just one of them.

It's sad that there are women who have self-image issues; feeling that all the sexual pleasure in the relationship should come from them, and they feel somehow "threatened" if the man pleasures himself.

And - believe it or not - there are actually men who are "threatened" by womens' sex toys. Yikes...

Enjoy yourself. Invite your partner to do the same.

I'm not a guy, but I just had to answer this! Why *wouldn't* it be alright? What does having a partner have to do with masturbating? Some people like to do it just because it feels good, and if your girlfriend/wife has a problem with you doing it, then *she* is the one with the problem, not you.Enjoy yourself.

Absolutely. Almost all men masturbate throughout their adult life, right up to the day they die - and they can also have a fun and happy sex life with their partner.

Many women also enjoy masturbation in addition to a partnered sex life.

Dam right it is!

It's important for both of you to enjoy masturbation seperately, explore your sexuality and try not to feel guilty about it as some people do. It is your body to discover and enjoy my friend. :)

Have fun
Jules :)

I'd say yes, I'm an addict and I need both of the acts to feel good. Don't know if that's natural or not...
