Does Anyone Know the proper way to do as screen kiss? I can't find any guidelines and I have a report in my drama class as well as a demonstration due in a week.

Well now, that's a fun assignment! (And unlike stage combat, no professional supervision necessary!)

David Grote has a great section about stage kisses in his directing book. I'll try to remember the highlights:

1) Determine what kind of kiss it is. Is it soft and tender, frantic and passionate, chaste and awkward? Does the kiss land on the back of the hand, the cheek, the lips, somewhere else altogether? Why is the kiss in the script at all--what information does it give the audience that they could not get from, say, the previous conversation or the other movement in the scene?

2) Start at the end of the kiss--where you want to be when the kiss is ending--and rehearse it backwards from there. Work it in slow motion, just as you would a stage fight. Practice the kiss both forward and in backward. It can be that carefully choreographed--ok, this is when I put my hand on his shoulder, this is when I lean forward, this is when our foreheads touch, whatever.

3) Breath mints are your friend! (ok--that's not from David Grote--that's just from my own personal experience!)

Look into the other persons eyes and believe that the feel of their lips on yours is a moment you have been waiting for your whole life. Feel the softness of it before you ever touch. Depending on the situation of a lovers kiss to a friends just kiss the person as you normally would. A wide open tougue lashing is usually not needed if you are on stage as most in the house would not be able to tell.

Havent done one on screen but done one on stage - It was a long one. I was kissing the guy while the rest of the scene went on around us. I think its important to do a dramatic "thing" before the kiss. Make sure you know which way your partner is going so you don't bump noses.

Well if you don't want to touch lips then this way is great... lock hands and twist so you can suck your own thumb do it so the audience can't see what you are doing and run your fingers through there hair so it looks realistic.
Or for a more intimate way link pinkies (little fingers) and suck your own finger just don't pull way or get muddled up between your twos fingers hehe
hope i helped

Kiss however you want, but keep both of your profiles in the frame. Don't let the back of your head in the shot, because then it will look terrible.

Depends if it is a quick peck on the cheek or a long deep kiss or.....well, you get the drift!

ask your partner to close their eyes - when they do, hit them with a hammer.
