I think team USA had a good performance and should have performed at the level in all their group games as well as in the game against Ghana...
Maybe own goal by Zaccardo was a bit unluvky and USA were fortunate about that OG but you have to admit that it was a good pass and delivery of the ball that fooled the Italian defender.
Everything happens so fast though in a game. Maybe Zaccardo simply mistimed his clearance of the ball...
and then USA had good goalscoing opportunities but it was not to be as the Azzurri defence were very tight. Beasley stuck in a quick strike into the goal but it was recalled as an offside.
Of course, both teams had their fair share of dismissals. When USA were down by one man, they still kept pushing and defending well (kudos to the USA goalie), creating chances to break through but Italy offense kept pushing until the last moments.
Of course, USA went into the game as underdogs but they had a good attitude. A bit aggressive, but that's fair.

I was actually fortunate to be at this game (and reluctantly fortunate from a U.S. fan perspective to be at their two losses, as well). I thought the game was amazing, they played with incredible heart (with the only question mark in my head being Beasley, who looked as tired as the rest of them when he came on as a later sub). The refereeing was certainly questionable, and for what was known to be, and later proved to be a suberb Italian team, they acted (dived) far too much and other than a rare flurry here or there, didn't show a lot to be proud of at the match.
Unfortunately, for as much heart and effort as they U.S. had, they lacked opportunities (and men) to create too much offense--and the point was certainly as good as a victory, especially given their record against Europe in Europe.

I think both teams did extremely well. The USA more so in my opinio, due to they played alost all of the second half with nine players! Italy did very well also, and had an excellent goal! Both tems did awsome and a tie was the correct ending!

I thought it was the only respectable game the US played. There was good speed, pressure on the ball and some decent attempts to develop something on the attack.
It seemed as though they earned a little bit of respect back, or at least saved part of their face(s).
Donovan actually showed some of his potential in that game.

That was when I stopped being a fan of Italian football. They played so defensively; it was boring as hell. And while the US kept attacking, Italy kept fouling. Then McBride had his face slashed open, and I saw how dirty a lot of the Italian players can be. Then the US started fouling too, and it was no longer a fun game to watch. The Italian style of play is ruining the game of football. Stay in your end, foul, and then counter-attack and dive to get a free kick. Eeesh. I might as well watch rugby.

USA didn't play good enough. That game was filled with fouls! It was a really dramatic game. Italy did a better job--even to score an own goal! But I wonder what would happen if USA faced Italy at its fullest right now...

I was really happy with that performance, despite the sending offs and etc. I think that was a game where they really played to their potentials. If only they could perform like that every time. It was a brilliant match and I was stoked to see the US do so well.

refreeing was extremely pessimistic. the italians put in a strong defense, but you have to admit the u.s. are no pushover. the played admirably in that game. i say watch out for the u.s. in the near future.
maybe i'll play!! i hope i do

Gosh, I was on the floor laughing at that game, there was more fouls than one could count! It was like a PlayStation FIFA game gone combat! And the De Rossi moment was priceless! (though I admit vicious)
