By HOPE YEN, Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON - The U.S. government is at risk of squandering significantly more money in an Iraq war and reconstruction effort that has already wasted, overcharged or poorly tracked $10 billion in taxpayer money, federal investigators said Thursday.
The three top auditors overseeing contract work in Iraq told a House committee that Defense and State department officials condoned or otherwise allowed poor accounting, repeated work delays, bloated expenses and payments for work shoddily or never done by U.S. contractors.
That problem could worsen, the Government Accountability Office said, given limited improvement so far by the Department of Defense even as the Bush administration prepares to boost the U.S. presence in Iraq.
I think it does rise to that level and the Impeachment of Bush and Cheney both is the only course of action for Democrats.

Proof that we were lied to to start a war and the fact that so many people died for that lie. Yes, that is a high crime. But, not for what you listed.
Clinton was impeached for less.

I always wonder why people think Democrats would be less prone to taking care of their campaign contributors and lining their own pockets? This kind of waste has been going on ever since Congress did not relax the income tax laws after WWII, when most of the pork barrel spending started. The Congress didn't want to give up all that money they were confiscating from the taxpayers. Do you really think there was that much government debt before all those expenditures during the Vietnam War? Maybe the contractors that gained the most financially from that war lined the Democrats pockets that were in power back then.

No reasonable person would support such hateful nonsense. The Churhc has done everything possible to prevent and encourage the punishment of anyone harming children. The article is obviously generated by the lawyers suing the Church and the NY Times have been their accomplices in spreading misinformation. I have not seen a accurate story on this problem from the NY Times but instead highly prejudiced reporting full of halt truths and mostly innuendos. This particular story is not unlike others where all the witnesses are too old or incompetent to testify. There is not real evidence here of any complicit actions or inaction from the Pope assisting anyone harming children. The story is just anti-Catholic nonsense. God bless! In Christ Fr. Joseph

Indeed it is. But don't count on impeachment. Pelosi said she won't do it. Waste money. By the time the trial over little George would be about done anyway. The best the Congress can do is keep Georgie out of more trouble until Jan. 20, 2009.

I think you are delusional. The criminals are the ones wasting or stealing the money, if that is indeed happening.
War profiteers have been around as long as there have been wars. You cannot justify taking action against the President because there may be unknown persons stealing from the US. Find the bad guys and take your revenge on them.
