Hey there - although my period has been late for about 4 days now and I'm getting all the right symptoms (side cramping, fatigue, light-pinkish spotting), I've taken quite a few HPT and they have all came out negative. I've been buying AccuClear, which costs about $8 and come two in a box. I've been doing it correctly, but have just been wondering... maybe because I'm using a cheap brand, they're not producing the most accurate result? What do you guys think?

I used clear blue digital. One sister used EPT and the other used a dime store $1 test. All three worked for us.

Best of luck!

Here is a fabulous site where HPT's are fully investigated. There are plenty of comparison charts that will help you get the best test for your money.

Honestly, Walmart's brand, Equate, is one of the best ones for the money.

The tests that say they can predict pregnancy 5 days before your missed period are just terrible. There is no way they can make that claim. Some women may not have even had the fertilized egg implant by that time. It all depends on you and the individual pregnancy.

My first pregnancy, I didn't test positive until I was 6 days late. And that was with one of the most sensitive tests out there (20mIU). Hang in there!

I must agree that the equate brand is pretty good. I got positive results early on with it both times I conceived. If you don't get your period in a week though and the HPT is still showing a negative result, you should consider seeing your doctor for a blood test. It can pick up much smaller amounts of HCg.

Just check how many miu/ml of hcg it picks up...the lower the number the better...you can try an early pregnancy test such as clear blue easy or first response which is supposed to be able to pick up on hcg early on in pregnancy...usually 5 days before a missed period... Good Luck~
