You could be kept as a human Popsicle indefinitely As long as they kept you at a proper temperature you wont decay very quickly. Although if you are embalmed and not temperature controlled you will start to decompose. This may sound quite gross but a few years ago there was a body found in a funeral home in Detroit that was supposed to have been cremated and was "Accidentally forgotten" when the place closed down suddenly. After about 8 years he was in an advanced state of decay.

I would do that if I was the one that was being paid... I am currently paying on a pre-paid funeral plan for my mother and I intentionally left out the embalming because it would cost me an extra $1,000.00 dollars... So I am not paying for embalming for my mom cause her funeral will be so small and no one has to walk past her coffin to look at her... So I am saving the thousand dollars by not paying for embalming... My moms funeral will still be just over $6,000 with casket, hole, flowers, dressing, service, covering the hole, and driving the body to the cemetery... I also have to pay for the death certificate...

Even in refridgeration, I can imagine she is not in a very good condition. They may not be able to view her at all, depending on what kind of condition her face is in. Hopefully they have enlisted the help of a wonderful embalmer, otherwise there is a chance they may not be able to view her at all. The medical examiner had warned that she was already decomposing and needed to be released.
