hi, i bought an X1600 512mb AGP 8x video card around a year ago and it recently stopped working. i can boot up the computer, but the monitor is blank or reads "monitor is working properly, check hardware and signal cable." i've tried other monitors and signal cables but nothing has worked so far.

has anyone else had this problem? if so, how did you fix it?

I MISS OBLIVION!

Sup man, I had the same card and it was actually the Catalyst drivers that were messin up which cause the GPU to stop working and XP would shut that app down and reset the GPu, i ended up going with 2 Nvidia 7900 GTX in SLI.
My current System
Intel Pentium d 3.4ghz Windows Vista Premium 3gb of OCZ DDR 667 250gb SATA 2 Nvidia 7900GTX in SLi Gigabtye Mobo 550 w X connect 27" LCD TV Sound Blaster Audigy 5.1 Dude Make the switch to Nvidia, most likely that will fix the problem if u have not yet switched to PCI eX 16X i would reccomend going with a Nvidia 6800 and can actually unlock the extra 4 pixel pipelines so ur not paying for a 7800 use Rivatuner, that card right there outperforms the 1600 4X better. Oh and i was having problems on oblivion and HLF2
