We just got this new Biology teacher in the middle of the year. He is terrible. He is very inexperienced. He is asian which I have nothing against. Everyone's grade went way down since he came. No one has learned nothing new. When you ask for help, he says"I can't give you the answer"when the student was asking for help not the answer. He sometimes will not tell us what our home work is then the next day he asks if we did our homework. The tests he makes have nothing to do with the subject or anything in the book. He only gives us 5-minutes for something that he says takes 30-minutes. He even blocked the door during a fire drill and told everyone to go back to their seats. He has also called several black students the N word. He is not smart either. He mispelled day. He spelled it "daye". Just to let you know, that is not how they spell day in Asia. They use characters in Asia. What should I do with this teacher?

Then he drops my grade to a D. I found out he dropped everyone's grade over a petition going around to remove him(which was aproved by the Counselors at school) and over someone stealing his candy. He should not get away with it. He even callls parents houses calling the parents and their children and whole family morons and bad people that should be wiped off Earth.

The teacher acused everyone of not turning in there work after this petition and candy stuff comes up. I got a D because he is an ***. He thinks if you misbehave you should have 10% taken off your grade. I did my work and worked hard. He does not help no one. It is not me. It is him. I did turn in my work on time. He's saying I don't do that. I looked at the Progress report he gave me and almost everything on there was 100%. But some of the work was missing according to him. I turned it in, all of it. It's because I signed the petition. He is punishing us unfairly. He is strict because he is asian.

The teacher probably has a contract. You will have to get your ducks in a row to get the school district to do anything about him at this time of year. If enough parents get involved and you have firm documentation, take it to the school board at their next meeting. You might have to sign a log in sheet before they will add you to the board meeting's agenda. Deadlines for those sign up sheets are about a week before the meeting. In the meantime, have parents contact the principal and the administrators to make them aware of the problem. Be sure your side handles everything in a professional and respectful manner.

Have you documented these statements that he makes? Usually there is a chain of command at school districts- first would be to see if a group of you could arrange a meeting with his supervisor, which would be the department chair or head of the science teachers. You will need to cordial though and not lose your temper- adults will listen if you present the material well. Have you documentation about when these statements were said, to whom, time and some background as to why he might have said them (perhaps he was provoked or students were calling him names?) You need to be thorough and show all sides. You can also ask that certain things be done for the class- like a place on the board where the homework is written, a list of the topics that will be on the next test. Has anyone tried to talk to the teacher after school about his teaching methods? If the head of the science department doesn't do anything- than yo unext step will be to take it to the principal- again with factual documentation. -If it's not factual you could ruin someone's life which isnt fair- Try to see if the other science teachers will help him be a better science teacher first.

If it was that bad and he was calling families and such some adult would be getting involved. N word, morons, the fire drill? Any one of these tings would cause a clearly definable issue with a parent, the school or even the fire inspector. So you are saying there is not one adult working on this issue?
Sounds like you have a kid thing going on because this would be taken care of otherwise. Sounds like you just need to keep quiet and let the adults handle it..... the reason they are not is because there is no real issue. You got a D because you got a D. This is apparent because of the way you write. What are you 12? And if not you need to look around and see if everyone is having this issue. It could just be you and your crowd.

First of all he is unethical, get other students sign the petition give a copy to the director and school counsellor and stand firm to boycott his class and stay at the door until both mentioned see to what he is up to. Ask for him to be evaluated while in his class by the Director. This is his responsibility to see that you get fair treatment and justifiable teaching methods. His position is to teach, he is not a commander of a boot camp!!!!!!!

Hey, this is definitely a disruptive situation especially in an academic environment. Its great that students got together and already took action. I think you should go directly to the pricipal (if he/she already is not aware of the problem). Try getting more petitions and names signed and involve other teachers.
Maybe his teaching style is not what you are accustomed to, but them there are standards everywhere and codes of conduct, so definitely communicatee with the student union and principal
good luck

Sounds like he has a problem. Go with your parents to talk to the chair of the biology department...perhaps he is only a student teacher and should not be teaching in the long run.

1. Buy a copy of "Killing Mr. Griffin" and leave it on his chair.
2. Surreptitiously record his antics in class, and post it on MySpace and YouTube.
3. Go to the principal, and ask him to sit in on class sessions.

If it is college you should go to the dean and report what is going on. If it's not college tell the principal.
Get a group of students together and go to to dean.
