Ok so IT is smarter than us we know this, is there a web database chat out there that we can use to chat to the world with out having big brother stop us? goggle only works for macs and mines a pc.

Chatting at work is a no no. If you have been told it is not allowed then that is what they mean. You can be fired for it, at least where I use to work you could be. You can be watched through your monitor and not even know it. So if you think you are hiding something you are not. Employers are monitoring employees at all times to see who is working, they are paying you for a job to be done, not chatting on the internet. Maybe you are allowed while on your break or lunch but not during work time. You should ask your employer what the rules are then you won't get in any trouble.

If you are trying to get around the IT staff, it is not going to work.
Even if they can't see your activity on standard monitors, they can see the traffic patterns, and they can use a variety of products to get things "visible"
