I feel so alienate in my African American studies class. Everyone seems to always roll there eyes when I try to voice my opionion. I'm very opionated and vocal and they seem to be very mean to me. I feel so alone. I want to cry, I just want then to like. I don't understand what I did.

girl, who cares what they think. People can be very mean. There are two reasons they have a problem with you, because they couldn't of thought of what you thought, and they are jealous. It's stupid, I know. But the way I see it, they are most likely jealous. It could be that you are very smart, very opinionated, or your looks. You can't let them bring you down. You are not going to school for a popularity contest, even though most are in school for that. You are going to better yourself, make your life better. Just think of it this way, while your out in the world living it up, they are going to wish they paid more attention to the professor, then worrying about what you had to say.

Yeah you can listen to the jackass that posted first, but you goal is to be liked by them. If you want to be like you need to be a phony *** and cannot be a know it all, or have very many strong opinions. Of course you can keep it real and be hated by the majority of the class. That's the bottom line. You make the choice.

Don't cry girlie. Sometimes its not always what we say but how we say it that makes all the difference. Let it be known that you are not trying to offend anyone just stating your opinion the same way that each of them are allowed to. Good luck and Cheer up!!!

They're just jealous of you, honey, that's why they bother you, because they want you to seem less only because you're much more than them.

Now, try to get close to someone you feel like you could connect to, maybe someone you know may be feeling the same way you are. Little by, little, you'll make friends.

Ignore it. It's okay to be opinionated. Just make sure you aren't being extremely vocal against their opinions...everyone is entitled to their opinion. If they don't respect your opinions, you don't want these people to be your friends anyway. Concentrate on people in other classes you are taking.

Nothing!!!!

just keep on beeing your self never give up, "keep walking"

just do your thing never mind everyone else, but of course don't be mean, pretencious nor pedant.

sometimes when you try too hard to fit in a certain group, it hurts even more.

best of luck & never give up

Your probably the smart girl everyone doesn't like because their idiots. You need to stop caring about their opinions, because obviously they are just stupid high schoolers. Keep on doing what your doing, and ignore them. Don't let them make you feel bad about yourself. you don't need to impress them. The only person you need to impress is yourself.

And to the guy who calls me a jackass later on. Um...I'm a jackass because I don't care what people think of me? I am in high school...but unlike most high schoolers, i honestly DO NOT care what anyone thinks of me. If they don''t like me, they can f*** themselves because I don't care. If no one liked me, i would not care because high school is really stupid, and everyone there still thinks sex is funny. It sounds like your the jackass who is a "phony ***" because you care so much about what people think of you.

you are smart you speak up in class. They are not and do not. =
not worth wasting your time and energy on the bozo's.
And don't let them influence your study habits, or your active participation in class.
