MySpace is a very sophisticated web platform, built by teams of programmers and designers. Even fairly advanced web developers find it difficult to develop effective social networking sites. I am working on a social networking site for a web startup company, much smaller in scope than MySpace, but with some similar features. You'll need to learn one of the more advanced web programming languages, such as:
CGI

ASP

Then you'll need some rather expensive webhosting / server hosting from a company such as 1&1 Internet to run it all on
