Well, if you're 18, then legally they're not in charge of you anymore.
You can get a job and buy food...or ask a friend.
But, that is still not right, despite your age.

It's considered child abuse to withhold food from a child of any age. And it's immature to do so just because a person may be "mad" at them.

Is a parent doing this to you?

By the way, if you don't want people to assume that YOU are the parent, perhaps you should have clarified a bit more with a few more details first. You can't be upset at people for assuming something when you really gave no other details.

Come on...all you people on here claiming that this is child abuse is absurd. That's what's wrong with our teenagers now a days. They need a stiff kick in the a#&. Going to bed with out diner because you probably screwed up, AGAIN, and probably have a smart attitude about it is not going to hurt you. By the way. Are your arms broke or something? Because you say you are 18. Well, hell, get a damn job if your hungry. That's what normal people do. They don't come on the internet and show their immaturity by whinning about how mommy didn't feed me last night. Give me a freakin break!! You are just unbelievable.. Sometimes, I just really hate teenagers. Bunch of spoiled brats. The lot of ya.

Why are you mad at them? If they broke the rules or acted innapropriately, then discipline them by taking away privileges...video games, tv, phone, car keys etc. I don't think that withholding food will make them feel secure and loved which is what a parent wants, despite their not so great behavior.

no its not right.. the tenn will most liekly hate you. my mom did that to me sometimes and i HATED her for it.. it is abuse as well.. if i were you teen i would call the cops on your for child neglect. you are immature and shoudlnt even have a child. not feeding them cause you are "mad" give me a break... grow up!(this to you as the parent)

if you are the teen talk with your om about it tell her how immature she is and if she does it again or is still continuing threaten to call the cops on her for child negelct.. it is not right if she is the one doing this to you! maybe you can live with a relative or a friend for a while till things settle down with you adn your mom.

i think it can be a little drastic to not feed your teen when you are upset with them... my mother once made me "fast" for a few days because of something i had done... however after the first day she had to end it because i had never fasted before and couldn't handle it... i think sometimes parents tend to lose their logic and reasoning when they are only thinking of something to "fit the crime"... although i think it's drastic i will say that fasting in itself is fine and healthy for you too... but as a punishment, it might be too harsh to expect that of your child...

Yeah, sure. At 18 you're old enough to fix yourself something to eat. You're also old enough that Mom can throw your butt out on the street if she wants.

NO! That's just abuse and neglect. Why do you ask? If you are a parent that is not feeding your child, come here so I can kick your @ss.

well, if he is smart, he could charge for child abuse, depending on if you're starving him from the 3 basic meals or just taking small snacks away.
