im looking for a web site for houses to rent and all that comes up is apartments does anyone know of some?

When we were looking to rent a house (Dallas area) we went to the website for the local newspaper and checked out the classifieds. They had a lot of both homes and apartments listed.

most houses to rent are listed with apartments or under to rent, check with the Realtors and tell them specifically what you are looking for sometimes it helps

Depends on what location you're looking. Try craigslist.com. I've found both houses and apartments for most cities there. Good luck.
