I'm getting a new amythest ring and was wondering the best color of nail polish for my nails so that the ring stands out? Also any good ways of making nails stronger? Which is better oval shaped nails or square shaped? Thanks in advanced

Bright colors...to make nails stronger..hmmm.. first put basecoat. then nail thickener by OPI then color then topcoat. It might peal off easier since theres so many coats. but this is good for 2 days. oval or quared. It really depends on your nails and your styles. But if u plan to choose square, remember to tell them to smooth out both of the sides where it bends or it might get caught on to clothes and ripped it. Good Luck

To really make your ring pop, you could do it two ways: the first is to paint your nails a light color (like Essie's Mademoiselle, or OPI cotton candy). This would work if the color of your ring is a dark-toned or really bright. The second way, is to pick the same color polish as your ring. If someone looks at your hands, and sees red nail polish, they will also notice your red ring. But if your ring is bright green, for example, using a natural color is better than green nails.

As for the shape, square is modern i think. BUt classic oval shaped is more convenient and in my experience, it breaks less than squared.

To make nails stronger, the best way is to let them breathe. Pretty much, take breaks between one polish and the next. Keeping your nails clean, without polish or acrylics will naturally allow them to be strong. Frequent Polish remover and all the buffing will thin out nails.

Short squoval that mirrors the cuticle line with the white tip no longer than 1/4 inch past the fingertip buffed or w/ a classic, neutral nail polish like Essie Sugar Daddy or Mademoiselle.

Another color option is Essie's Buy Me a Cameo which is a pearly taupe (just a hint of shimmer, very classic and easy to wear).

Keeping your nails neutral will let the color of the amethyst pop.

Personally I like square.
As far as nail color go with shades lighter than your ring color in the same color tone.

red, orange and pinks
The shape depends on your HAND shape and finger shape, not a design. I wear pointed nails, my hands are short and stubby.
IT really depends on you.

I always wear a pale nude color or RED.

I'm a guy, and privately, I don't like long nails. I know a lot of like lengthy, painted nails cause they're "so pretty", but I don't like them.

A little bit of nail is fine... but I agree together with you. Long nails are kinda low.
