If you have the equation of the line, you have the slope and the intercept. Let's say your line's equation is:
y = 5x + 2

Then, 5 is the slope of the line and 2 is the intercept of the line with the y-axis (ordinate).

For a line with the equation
y = 3x - 8

3 is the slope and -8 is the intercept.

Just remember the equation y=mx+b. m is the slope and b is the y intercept.

Here's a website that may help.

Also, just try typing in "slope intercept graphing" on yahoo or google, and many websites will come up.
