Bush, George W. R 2,912,790 48.85%

I don't know the exact number but the Bush family messed up the count in Florida and appointed Bush the winner. Gore also got more of the popular vote.

Your point is clear. Unfortunately for you, we have a system that does not elect based on popular vote. It elects based on an electoral college system.

Let me pose a question to you. How many people in Florida voted for Bush and how many voted for Gore. That is where the controversy was.

What difference does it make at this point? Not trying to be snarky, but sheesh...can't we move past this yet?

Bush won the electoral college, which was put into place to prevent those of us who don't live in overly-populated areas from those of you who do.

More voted for Gore. Unless you are talking about the Supreme Court, which was the only vote that wound up mattering.

More people actually voted for Gore. Bush won because he always has to get his way.
