its not what happens to you
its what you do with what happens to you
who's to say what's positive and what's negative, even the most seemingly negative occurances can turn out to be positive
an example - say a baby Adolph Hitler was killed as a child, negative or positive?

The thing about thinking positive isn't to make sure "bad" things do not happen to you. Thinking positively helps the flow of "good" to the brain. While you are moving through life, things that you don't like (or as you call it - bad) will eventually happen because we live in a world that we do not necessarily control. Have you ever played The Sims software game? Notice how wonderful life is there - because you control it. You can stop the catastrophes and even pick your income - you can build the largest house in the world. In fact, you can make it perfect. Nothing bad happened to these Sim people. But in real life, "stuff happens." That is why it is important to think positively so that the negative does not weigh you down and block the high energy that moves you through life. As the person on here said, its not what happens to you - its how you deal with it. Some people sink when things are overwhelming to them. But notice the people who don't let it weigh them down.
Thinking positively will always keep you focused on your goal and you will find success. Bad things happen to all of us; its how we react to it that makes the difference.

Yes. Here is an example- recent research showed that children who are told they can learn, grow, and succeed continually improved in their classes. Children who were not given this structured positive teaching did not improve. See link below.
As for the second part to your question- bad things can always happen because everything is not in your control. All depends on how you view the event. Here's an analogy- from the day you're born, you are dying. But that does not mean you should consider that a "bad thing that happened", give up, and kill yourself.

Positive thinking doesn't = good things happening.
Bad things happen to everyone. It is the positive attitude that helps a person make it through the tough times.
Also some people are so negative that they invite troubles in to their life.
Otherwise troubles are like a roll of the dice. It just happens.

Definitely yes with wisely positive thinking.
When you get a cut on your finger, you positevely think: It will be OK as many times before. But you do not leave it alone or remedy it just by washing. You must take care of it more carefully than before.
As a positive man, you think that yourself and the world are moving ahead to a splendid civilization, but wisdom says that you must also seek excellence to contribute your best to this process. And you never collapse before any failures or trials, which are always available to all people..
I wish you knew already that the source of wisdom is the fear of God.

Sure it makes a difference because if you are optimistic (positive) you'll likely be more open to possibilities that bring more options into your life. More options = more opportunitites for good things. Bad things happen to everyone- nothing is 100%. Health, good friends and family help ease the bad things.

No, positive thinking doesn't make any difference. And, that is why bad things happen to positive thinking people.

Yes positive thinking is good.. it is a good frame of mine and it off sets the negative and is better for your health and state of mind.
Bad and good things happen to all people. If one recognizes that and accepts it life would be easier, because you will not feel as though you are singled out if you are good. The glass is half full not half empty.

Even though bad things do happen to "Good" People, they happen to everyone...Thats just life. Those with the positive mentaility can better deal/solve/overcome it and move on.....without positive thinking, where would any of us be...?
