I'm an active duty military member stationed in California. My spouse filed for divorce and is requesting spousal support. Can someone tell me if the state of California uses BAH and/or BAS to calculate spousal support or just basic pay. Any online reference or California Family Code law reference would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Call JAG on your base. It's free legal information. They cannot represent you in court, but they have weekly separation and divorce seminars where you can ask questions to a military lawyer and get all the nformation that you need.

Good luck

Ok in the first place the best thing that you can do is get a good civilian attorney who is very familiar with military law, because trust jag is not going to cover your azz they will only give you advice so don't depend on them to help you completely through your divorce. Also it depends on how long you were married to her she is not entitled to spousal support a judge decides that you can try divorce source and many other divorce forums to find info you need.Keep in mind that if she is awarded spousal support it will only be for half the duration of your marriage like I said If and IF is a big two letter word if you are in need of a good attorney referral then hit me up because I know an excellent one you may email me if you like.
