Look at Acer laptops. You can get core 2 duo systems. I have one of the older duel core systems and it is great i would not use any other brand of laptop now because they use good hardware and they are resnobly priced.

Dell inspirion 6400 is the best at this price. It comes with a core2duo processor , 1 gb ram(special offer) and vista home basic. The screen size is 15.4 inch. You can customise all the parts. You can select a higher speed processor , nvidia or ati graphics card and vista home premium. No other manufacturer is offering a notebook with vista in india
