it depends on what you want to do with your website.

If you want to sell things, you will need to open a merchant banking account to allow for credit card processing.

Secondly, you need to contract with a web host.

The quickest, cheapest, easiest way to start a website is using geocities which as available on the Yahoo! menu. That will allow you to experiment with various templates and blank pages to see what you like or dislike. Once you are comfortable with the basic layout, Yahoo! can help you get a domain name (if you want that).

I started off using yahoo geocities for a free domain - they have drop and drag tools so you don't have to know any HTML, JavaScript, CSS or anything, it's like designing a Microsoft Word document but better and easier :)

Once you are comfortable with that, you can look online for free training resources for HTML stuff - I learned how to write HTML from WebMonkey - they had some great easy to read articles. Good luck!

1st you need a web host. like www.ipower.com or the like.

they you can use their software to build a site, or you can go to www.w3c.org and learn html.

from there use an editor like notepad to write your pages, and use an ftp program to upload it to your site.

basically you need
1. a web host
2. knowlege of html
3. ability to ftp

or the software like dreamweaver or frontpage which will upload for you.

start with this in your note pad.
