I'm on Depo (Birthcontrol). I got my first shot on Dec.27. Five days later I had sex for the first time. A condom was used and everything. I didn't have sex again until a month later. Still using a condom. Last week, we didn't use a condom, but he pulled out way before anything could happen. I was supposed to get my period last week, but since I'm on the shots, it stops it. Last Wednesday, I started having very bad period cramps. Thrusday they were worse. I started spotting Friday. But it wasn't regular blood. It was brown and clumpy. Usually my period only lasts for five days, but it's been seven. I'm still bleeding and there is still brown blood, but red blood is there also. Does anyone know what's going on? I can't be pregnant, can I? I CAN'T. =/

Well, I believed I took all of the necessary precautions.

Thank you for your advice, but does anyone know why this might be happening?

I know that can happen. But I'm on Birth Control. =/ So I thought it would be okay. As long as it was way before he felt anything at all coming.

it's normal to bleed abnormaly if you start taking birth control. the first three months you could have spotting, and on top of that your period will be different! it could be longer, brown, red, lighter, it could be really weird. no one can be sure if you're pregnant, but i don't think so! i would say if it keeps happenign see a doctor, or just call and ask hwo long the side effects are gonna take. Good luuck!

If this is your first period after your shot then it should be normal. Your body isnt used to having your period every so often so your blood will bill up a little more then normal. Dont worry. The other thing is if this was your first time having sex then you may have cut yourself and sometimes people bleed too. Anyway, you dont have to worry about this right now.

It is possible that you're pregnant because pre-ejaculate can get you pregnant (even though he pulled out-- this happens at the start of sex) but the symptoms don't really sound anything like it--I would bet that it is just because of the shot. Wait a few more days and then call the doctor that put you on BC. See what he/she thinks. <3

Ow, Sweetie, How scary for you. My grand daughter is on that, too., and has had lots of problems with it. I know that it can cause all sorts of unusual side effects but they are not the same for everyone. I imagine that the unusual bleeding is due to the medicine but you should speak with your medical provider to be on the safe side. Just call the office and tell them that you would like to speak with a nurse about possible side effects to a new medicine that you are on.

Remember the way you feel right now before you decide to take this chance again..Pulling out before ejaculation is not a safe form of birth control.

Good luck.
