Twins tend to be born prematurely and depending on how premature, they tend to have mild medical problems and are at higher risk for birth defects than single births. As such, if the choice were up to me I'd want my child to have the best chance possible to be healthy and not compromise that for my own comfort or "get it out the way" philosophy. Whatever is wrong with one child, such problems are doubled with two. There is also alot of stress when having your first single child that most parents aren't prepared for and don't know about due to inexperience alone. If you double that you have twice the colic, twice the bills, twice the attention needed for your children. I coddled my child greatly one at a time, I would not want to be forced to choose who gets held at the moment in my exhaustion.

These things happen naturally and randomly for a reason, mainly because you trust that what is put on you isn't more than you can bare. Only animals are meant to have litters, when women do so its an entirely new stress and complication. Its deeper that matching clothes and rhyming names.

I have twins, It's very hard in the first year. There's a lot of work 24/7. If you have one at a time, at least you get a break when your baby is sleeping. In general kids are awesome. Good luck!

Not that we have a choice but I always wanted to have identical twin boys. Didn't work that way for me; instsead, I had two pregnacies and two c-sections. Still, I would prefer the twins.

Twins are a handful and very hard to adjust to. I would rather have them separately.
