Dependent of you in any kind of way you can think of. If it's a gf/bf, it may be that they know what they have is too special to lose but aren't willing to admit it to anyone. So they put on a show and as soon as they screw up again they run back to you saying "Sorry, I'll never do it again I promise,I love you take me back"(in other words "you'll take me back again and I know it, then I can abuse of you and your things until I have to apologize again).
Or
the person who is mean to you(lets say a best friend) has a problem and that's the just the way he or she is dealing with it. That's acting out on a subconscious level. They might have something real painful they have to deal with and that may be their way of reaching out....I dunno, maybe...I'm such a freak sometimes.;o)
