Best one right now is no doubt Intel Core 2 Duo Extreme QX6700! It has 8 cores! 2.66 GHZ. L1 Cache: 64KB+64KB L2 Cache: 2 x 4MB and it also cost $1000!!!!!!!! Go to yahoo and search for qx6700 review and look at the benchmark scores. And you know what else? not a lot of applications take advantage of the multicore processors right now, so in the future, this one can be even faster. Hell even the cheaper 4 cores Core 2 Duo beat the most expensive AMD in most benchmarks.

I am an AMD fan but Intell has some good things out there too, it really depends on what ur doing it for AMD is more for gaming, but they run a tad bit hotter. Intell can also be used for gaming but they are not as good in most ways as an AMD processor. Thats really just by my experence and opinon, the Intell Core 2 Duo is actually pretty good and beats the AMD version of it.

The speed I have is 2.8GHz overclocked to 3.6GHz with an aftermarket watercooler on the processor. If you want to overclock I have had good luck with AMD as long as you have a good heatsink to take heat away from the processor.

hope that helped man, and good luck with ur CPU :-)
