HaHa!! I wouldn't doubt it. I saw one of those "concerned scientists" on the TV the other day trying to tell us that all these snow storms are a result of global warming!! What a hoot, I laughed so hard I almost fell off the couch!

I don't think that word means what you think it means. And oxymoron is:
1. not hyphenated
2. two words with ultimately contradictory meanings, id est "pretty ugly"
The word you want is "paradox."
Now. I concede that on the surface it is pretty ironic. Funny to laugh at. Taken seriously, though, just proves that most people don't understand what global warming is -- it creates an overall increase in temperature which can create erratic weather patterns. It can't be proven or disproven by one particularly chilly or hot day.
And, I haven't heard one scientist deny that global warming is happening. The big debate is on how detrimental the effects will be on the planet. Many representatives of big oil insist the the increased CO2 in the atmosphere wont' be a bad thing at all and will instead make temperatures
There are some really good documentaries that show both sides to the argument with fairly little bias. One is a Nova & Frontline production entitled "What's Up With The Weather." It's very well laid out and considerably less pathos-oriented then, say, Al Gore's movie.

karr1213 is exactly right - in the 70's scientists claimed the extreme cold weather was due to a change in climate for a new ice age and that it would hit here in the 80's. hummmm - Now it is year 2007 and OMG it is a Warming trend - the scientist were wrong then and are wrong now. It is some Bogus ranting of Al Gore still pissed because he did not win the election - now he is trying to get revenge on the populous and frighten them into believing we are all going to die in the fires of GLOBAL B.S. WARMING.
Hey look the fire God has all the answers

Where do you live sunshine.....With the late arrival of winter, the Freshwater lakes of the north never froze over,Wich adds more moisture to the air as the low pressure rolls over it....Record snowfalls....but very short season....Next year you will need a even bigger snowshovel....thats if the hurricane doesn't relocate you to a trailer.

Global warming causes erratic and extreme weather conditions.
The warming relates to the poles and the ocean.
I don't know why people think they know more than the scientist that study Global Warming. And not only do they think they know more, they degrade them for the work.

I heard there was an ice storm, yes.
And did you know that in the 70's there was concern about global cooling? Nobody ever mentions that.

I keep coming across people that hear the words global warming and focus on the word "warming" without reading about global warming and understanding just what it means.

What a pathetic bunch of ignorant losers. Global warming causes extreme weather not just hot weather.
God forbid people like you actually have to face responsibility for you own actions.

Great point.
There is still NO SCIENTIFIC PROOF that global warming is caused by man.
Further, many scientists are convinced that global warming is NATURALLY occuring.
