Considered one of if not the best to ever play the game, unlike most other backs he was known for 'finishing' runs and crushing blocks, punishing would be tacklers by hitting them rather than running out of bounds...had great vision and lateral movement, could throw a football half the length of the field accurately (had a few td tosses) could kick field goals...and as one SI writer once said, I watched as he warmed up before a game, he threw the fooball over 50 yards, kicked a few 30 yard field goals and did a handstand and walked from just past the fifty into the endzone on his hands...everyone who watched or really knows about the game has heard of him...generally regarded by most players of his day as 'the best ever'...the one thing I personally recall about Walter that seemed wrong...in the super bowl where they trounced New England, he wasnt given a carry later in the game when they were close to the end zone, the coaches had overlooked giving the greatest of all time a super bowl touchdown...

Lost his Superbowl ring when trying to demostrate trust. Gave it to a kid and the kid actually lost it in the cushions of the coach. It was kinda recently found and given back to his Widow. He held the Career rushing title for years. Was an great player. Had a lot of class. Seriously though what is the exact question.

He was a running back for the Chicago Bears in the 80's, won a superbowl with them in 1985, and passed away from cancer a few years back. Considered a great athlete, and a great man.
