I am 24 yrs old. I am married. I have been using triquilar for the last one yr. Is it safe to use birht control pills. Do they effect the kids in future like their mental and physical health. I have been diagnosed with yeast infection 3 months ago. I consulted a doctor. She recommended a single pill with which i was cured. But for the past 1 month i have been getting the same syptoms. The doctor said to use the ampicillin 10 day course 2 tablets a day. When I was reading online about this i studied that using triquilar with ampicillin may have some reactions. So what do u suggest to do. Do u want to stop taking triquilar for 1 month and then continue using. Is it safe to use triquilar for a long period. Does this effect the child birth. Do u suggest another method to stop pregnancy like any safe period to have sex.
I am doing my masters right now and i dont want to have kids for another 2 years. Please advice me with this. Is it safe to use birth controll pills for alternate months.

I would like to answer u one by one
Firstly, contraceptive pills do not harm ur kids
Secondly, if u got relief of fungal infection with one tablet, then y u have been prescribed Ampicillin ?
If, u desided to take ampicillin, u need to adopt another method of contraception, coz it do has interaction with contraceptive pills which makes then ineffective.

Let me tell u about safe period first:
It depends on ur duration of whole menstrual cycle.
The shortest cycles minus 18 days gives the first day of fertile period. the longest cycle minus 10 days gives the lase day of fertile period. For example, if ur cycle varies from 26 to 31 days, the fertile period during which u should "not" have intercourse would b from 8th day to the 21st day of ur cycle, counting day one as the first day of menstrual period.
so, safe period would exclude the fertile period.

Other method of contraception that suits u is condom, either u can use female consdom or make ur partner use it while having intercourse. Orelse, u can get copper T devise put inside utrine cavity.

After ur ampicillin course has been completed, u can get back to contraceptive pils. But please DO NOT use it on alternate month as it won't b effective any more.

Antibiotics can affect birth control pills effectiveness so you should use additional birth control until you get your period. Birth control pills do not affect your future children.

Antibiotics can also cause yeast infections so if you are taking them to get rid of one - it won't work. Go to the pharmacy & buy a 3 day course of Canestan. Eat yogurt every day for a couple of weeks after taking the antibiotics and that should clear you up.

You can be on the pill for years and years and it takes a little while to come completely out of your system It does not affect any future children, all its doing is basically telling your body you are already pregnant so you can't get pregnant again.

However, if you have thrush and have anti-biotics the absorption rate of the pill is affected so you could get pregnant. You need to use a barrier method of contraception but still take the pill.

Hope this helps

If you have regular cycle, you can use the safe period. Avoid sex between 10th and 20th day from the onset of your period. I would suggest, please consult your gynac before you decide any thing on this.
