Mike Mussina is one of the more dominant pitchers the yankees have had in there rotation since he signed with them. Last year Mike Mussina had 13 wins making it 239 for his career. In 2003 he had 17 wins and 8 losses at the age of 36 and just 12 wins the year after. To be realistic he will need exactly 61 wins to get to 300. There's two ways Mussina can get to 300, one would be if he averages 15 wins in a 4 year span and the more realistic would be if he can play sharp into his fourtys like Roger Clemens. I think he has a chance because he dosn't have to rely on his hard stuff he is mainly a knuckle curve pitcher with speeds up to 89 and rarely reaches the 90's.

Mike Mussina has 239 wins. He needs 61 to get 300. He is 38 years old. If he could pitch six more years and win at least 10 or 11 games a year, then he can do it. He just might do it. If he doesn't, it could be close. However, I will be going for him to win 300.

At 239 wins he has an outside chance. If hes going to do it the Yankees is the best team to be with. He will get the run support. He just turned 38 so he has a few good years left. He needs 61 wins so he'll need an average of 15 wins for the next four seasons plus one! We'll see!!!

He's always had good mechanics and been pretty healthy. The reason for his renewed dominance last year was an improved changeup. He's not a power pitcher so the loss of speed shouldn't affect him too much as he gets even older. If he can stay healthy and continue to throw an effective knuckle curve and changeup, it's possible that he makes it to 300 W's.

It would take a few 15-16 win seasons and his being able to stay healthy and pitching into his early 40's which is possible. Most likely he will fall about 15 wins short in my opinion. I hope that he does it!

That's a tough one but it's going to be real hard for him to do it only averaging 15 wins a season. If he could pick it up a nottch he might be able to but I don't think it's possible.
