After seeing last nights episode I was wondering if it's possible that all of it is Desmond's subconcious. Maybe he was in an accident and is now in a coma. He's "dreaming" everything.
I am sure this is too obvious of a solution but was just wondering if anyone else had the same thought?

incredible episode.....i think he is how they get off the island....penny sends a team to find him....rescues the remaining survivors...isnt desmond a great actor ! also....when he threw the ring in the water....didnt that offset history since the lady said it goes back under the counter.?..(and was the old lady the future pennelope??) so many questions.. :)

yeah, i think that is too obvious. besides, it would be a pretty elaborate dream. and what about the guy who was already on the island before desmond got there. i have no idea where it will lead but i have wasted too much time watching not to stick with it to see what happens.

i think that maybe when the "explosion" of light happened he was taken to the "others" and they put that into his mind and like kind of brainwashed him because like earlier they had the part where the "others" knew everyones backround and names. Also there was that part where that girls boyfreind was in the room with that tv and the sound was really loud it looked like they were brainwashing him. If that is not true then i think it has something to do with the "others".
