Short answer: NO, not really. Norton anti-virus is generally designed to stop viruses... but its not even 100% efficient at that. You see, all norton anti-virus is, is a program that will prevent malicious programs, and scripts to run on your computer. Norton has extended their services to include firewall, norton utilities, and so forth. Nothing in this world is secure, and if your on the internet, your vulnerable. What norton will do, like i mentioned above, is stopping scripts, and trojans, spyware, which are programs that sometimes allow others to monitor your activity, record your traits and your likes, and even take over your computer. The best thing is to not open email from people you dont know, dont open attachments that might not be meant for you, do not share passwords, try to change your password often, and make it difficult to guess.

I used to use Norton and I have never had a problem with computer hackers. And even now that I don't use it and use a free virus protection, I don;t have a problem with virus's or hackers.
So I wouldn't worry too much. Minded that you only go to website you trust, don't open suspicious looking e-mail.Use a pop up blocker and firewall. And along with Norton, have a spyware program as well, such as windows defender which is free.

Take it to somebody who is conscious desktops... it will probable be incredibly definitely worth the money.

If you buy a NAT router (30-60 CAD/USD), you will be guarded against any unsolicited internet traffic. It will stealth your computer so that you will be invisible to hackers.
To test your computer and see if it is protected against hackers, go to grc.com and click on shields up

no an antivirus is just to help you get rid and keep out viruses and some spyware/addware. use a firewall to keep out hackers....but that is not foolproof and sometimes it is more hassel then its worth
