I was driving down the highway and heard a squeeking sound like my belts i pulled over and shut the car off and now it wont start it turns over but wont start

If the car turns over but doesn't start then it isn't the timing belt. Check the charging system (battery alternator and alternator belt) Check the plugs and wires, air and fuel filter and pump. Check all fuses.

oh boy. Sorry to hear about your bad news Those Subaru's are tricky too. They run a dual timing belt and can shear a few notches on the belt and will slip. Or one of your idler pulleys for the timing belt has locked up thus causing the belt to break.

It sounds like your belt for your altenator or it might be your altenator.

call for help
get your mechanic to look at your car.
