me and my friend started snowboarding last year, and we took lessons and all, and actually, we're not that bad. but all the guy snowboarders in my class are saying we're posers and all that junk. long story short: we acceptted a bet. its like a race then up the hill again then down and up again [partners]. you don't want to know what the stakes are. and there's NO WAY that me and my friend can win! how can i get out of this mess? the ski trip is tomoro. should i fake sick? try to avoid them? PLEASE HELP!
also how can i get the guys to stop calling me and my friend posers and make them stop saying we suck at snowboarding when we're not that bad?!
any help is appreciated.

wow thank you for the many answers.
some of them even made me laugh.
made me smile.
cheered me up.
but i am certain that there is absolutly no way we can win, iv only been snowboarding for 1 year and theyve been doing it for at least 4!
and if i lose, then tell them the bet is off, they will call me a sore loser, liar, and whatever else they can think of.
and some people asked why i accepted the bet in the first place, and its only because i was sick of being pushed around and i wanted to prove to them i am better than that.
but im obviously not.
please oh please don't ask what the bet is anymore, i can't even say it.
also, its mostly my friend who is getting teased. no offense to her, but im kind of better, and so they don't tease me as much.
also, [again] even if the stakes are off and we still race, i dont think i will be able to face losing to them. its kind of hard to explain, but it will just prove to them what they already know, that they are better.

i dont condone violence, but you could try hitting them with the snowboard next time they call you posers. But seriously, i thought one of the points of snowboarding was to do a bit of posing. What is wrong with strutting your stuff, for all to see. You are in full view as well for humiliation, if you take a tumble. Go do your best in the race, but tell them before hand the bet is off, if what ever the stakes are, are so stupid that you cant mention them here, then you should definitely not follow through on the bet. If you make it clear before hand that you wont "pay up" your not renegaging on the bet, just showing that you are sensible. Whatever you do in life make sure you are doing it for the right reasons and not to impress someone, or because you feel under pressure to conform. Be your unique self, and damn the begruggers!!

Go and Have fun. Don't let this get you down. Just relax cause there are no stakes! Compete and if and when you lose tell them, bets off! they say all kinds of crap and then you say in todays world all i'll have to say is, "Boys pressured me into say it and I didn't let something like that stop me from having fun at the school ski trip!" Principal say, "okay you have detention for a day and those guys are either expelled or he'll drag your parents into it!" mockingly say this and then give them the choice! cause it most likely going to get to the teachers and principal anways, use it to your advantage! Next time don't let something so dumb worry you!

So what if these boys are calling you names.
You're fueling them because you show that it bothers you so much.
Just ignore little punks like that.
Snowboarding is just for fun, it's an activity, not a competition nor should you have anything to prove.
You're out learning a fun sport with your friendm that's what important.
I won't tell you not compete in this so-called race, that's you're decision.

people like that are insecure and frightened of a few thing or each and each and every individual diff. attempt patronizing him, say such issues because the position i'm from immediately is seen beautiful. And the crack about the domicile act like he must understand more beneficial advantageous and basically giggle at him for being so naive. again your report card is each and each and every of the data you want as to how smart you're. this can be a attempt and later in existence you'll see how properly you probably did.

That's not stupidity- it's male pride. I deal everyday with macho rich boys who know nothing other than their gaming consoles and money. I suggest actually winning. Kill them ruthlessly. That regularly puts them in their place. And quite honestly, we all do want to know what the stakes are. If they're so high, why the heck did you take them up?

i think i know what is at stake.. anywayz you wil surely lose if you think you can win and you will be callled posers and junk if you will not compete tommorow... the best thing you can do is talk to them.. ask for more time. if the stake is that big i think they will consider.. then practice as many hours as you can and dont think of losing... one more thing try to pray ok

say 2 one of them i cant go because my mum/dad has been rushed to hospital and to stop them from calling u posers find out one there darkest secrets and threaeten to tell it to every 1 or just simply humiliate them in front of there mates or just batter them
