The only person I'd loan my car out to is my cousin. She's very responsible. Anybody else can either pay me gas money to take them, or they can hit the bus. I once loaned my car out to a friend while in college, and she totalled it on the freeway.

I have. She has three kids and no car and needed to go to the grocery store. I wasn't about to drive them around in my brand new van so I loaned her my old car for a few hours. I was just trying to be nice.

I've been known to come home and notice a car missing. I never call the cops cuz I know it's just a buddy using it but it's nice when they at least tell me they are borrowing it.
