If some sort of apocalyptic event occurred, would lawyers be rendered useless?

I imagine only medical doctors, engineers and food preparers would be useful anymore.

A society without a code of laws is rule by the strongest. Lawyers will be needed to keep the court system operating.

Not unless all lawyers happened to be wiped out in the event. Unlike doctors, engineers and food preps, lawyers need other lawyers in order to function.
