Is ziplock bags ok?

No - zip lock bags are not anti-static bags. You'll risk destroying your sticks that way. An anti-static bag is best, but if you don't have one of those, then a paper envelope will be ok.

You need a static resistant type of bag. Ziplocs are ok but not static resistant. Use any old computer hardware bag if you can find one. They are usually dark grey. Also make sure to touch something to discharge any static you may have before removing the sticks or wear a grounding strap.

A anti-static bag is the best way. Zip locks might work for a temp solution. I wouldnt leave it in there for a long period of time though.

Absolutely. They are quite hardy little gadgets. Just don't let your Jack Russell Terrier chew on them. They ain't THAT hardy.
