I use a belkin wireless G Router - 2.4Ghz-802.11g for my two wireless computers upstairs for my children. When essex and parts of England had that really really bad strong wind, the wireless went down. No body else i knew who had wireless went down. Ever since the two computers upstairs internet wont work. It says it's connected and they have a good connection but it doesn't show any websites. In the back of the router there are 5 square holes and two wires. My son [who is quite good with computers sometimes] thinks the 2 wires have to be in specific holes, we cant remeber which as we tried fixing it and got them mucked up. My son has tried to put them it all different holes and try to get it working but it wont. Does any one else know how to get this working or have the same thing and know how to? If there is no success with these answers i will ring my ISP. Thanks

Lisa

If there are two wireless computers upstairs, then there should only be one wire from the modem into the belkin router and one other wire for any other computers down staiars (or that aren't using wireless.)

The wire from the modem MUST go into the connection labled WLAN.

This is really the only one that matters - the others can go in any of the other available slots.

Once you're sure that the wires are set correctly, turn off both the modem and the router. Then turn on the modem and if there are any lights that turn on or blink, give it a minute or two to set up. Then turn on the belkin.

the strong winds would not have caused the wireless side of your system to fail(directly) , it's more likely a case that your phone line was damaged as many no doubt were. so ring your phone company and ask them to check your line.

If your computers can connect to the wereless network, it's more likely a problem with your internet connection than with your router.
