No. A cult is a place that brainwashes you into giving all your money to them. Then they either have a mass suicide or have you working for them for all your life. They also feed you not enough nutrients so your easy to control. That sound like any church you know? I don't think so..

Peace:
Amanda

define cult- I don't think so-many serve really good purposes, many can be very misguided alot depends on the reverend/priest/pastor. Some seem to be pretty close to 'cults'. It's like anything else-no black or white-only shades of gray. Don't just go and believe everything you hear. Consider the soucre, thier motivation, etc...Think for yourself.

No some churches honestly have the love of God and a desire to help people at their very heart. That's not a cult.

Yes he is right.

There were so many religious places during the Roman Empire that they believed anything. Check out the time of Mithras and see who else were gods. Check out Mithras himself and compare it to Jesus. They were both born to a virgin mother, had wise men etc. etc.. etc..

no of course not. you dont have to be seriously involved in your church community to still be a part of it. You do not have to commit to it so seriously. Some churches yes but others are completely normal. plus, you do not HAVE to give any money. at my curch its optional.

no & remember that you can't trust everyone's opinion just because they're on TV. these type of discussions are designed to get your attention, in the end it's all just a load of crap to get advertising $$$ & ratings...
