Generally no, there is only one slot for a hard drive in most laptops. You could drop it into an external USB case and use it as extra storage like that. Otherwise you would have to replace the drive inside your computer with a larger one, and either transfer all your data or re-install everything.

No.

Most laptops only have room for one hard drive. There were a few that allowed you to plug them into expansion ports, like the old dell latitude CP series. But your model will not.

The only way to upgrade would be to buy an 80gig or larger hard drive and replace the one that is currently in there.

Another option would be to buy an external Hard drive that you could plug in via USB. Though that would not be as portable as just replacing the current drive.

Laptops are rarely expanable in this manner but you may be able to hook up a USB HDD and add more storage space that way. The other choice is a new larger HDD which means installing your OS again. Ouch.
Laptops are for portability but this is one of their biggest downfalls. PCs while not portable offer the flexible expansion.
You can upgrade or add memory in many laptops easily.

I am sorry to say, but most laptops only have one hardrive slot for the computer. I would have bought an 80G hardrive rather than a 40G. The best way to find cheap hardrives is if you search it through Yahoo! or Google.

No. Laptops aren't like desktops where you can add another hard drive unfortunately. You'll need to replace the hard drive entirely with a bigger one. Most hard drives are fairly easy to change but you'll need to visit Compaq's website for instructions on how to replace it.
