1 year only deployments, eliminate stop loss, etc..

I think its absolutely brilliant, and republicans are going to have a very difficult time trying to pretend they support our troops, and not agreeing with this.
It makes sense.
Whats your opinion

FIRST off...you go ahead and ask the guys on the ground.. I am prior service...most IF THEY KNEW ALL THE FACTS THAT led us into war, would not want to be there!!! And dont want to be there right now.

What you have is McCain and a few other rep[ublicans saying to public that all troops they talked to want to be there ... where you have OLI North on FOX for crying out loud..the most republican staion there is -- and hes over there day in day out...saying the attitude on the ground is the troops dont believe that war.

FOX is turning on its own????

As far as cut and run and surrender!!
What kind of war did you guys follow.
We won the war!!

apparently Nick isnt aware of Murthas plan and think this is about defunding the war..its not about defunding..its about Murthas plan that would fund but limit. You arent aware so why speak of things you dont know, and try to sound patriotic.
Another informed FOX news watcher no doubt

1 year only deployments were used in Vietnam and we also had the draft. To implement such a plan the draft must be brought back. The individual solider may extend or re-up in Iraq for extended tours, but I do agree for most men and women in Iraq a one year tour is long enough.

Yes I think Murtha's plan is extremely brilliant to help kill more of our troops that are over sea's fighting to protect us here at home. I think that he has found a perfect way to damage the strength of our troops and our homeland. Sure if there were someone threatening your home, and family as the Radical Muslims are in the world today, you would be the first to call the police and ask for help. But with this fantastic plan of Murtha's he would only be able to give you enough protection for 8 hours a day. No more protection after a certain time. He would let you fend for yourself. This would be made public and the criminals and terrorists would understand that if they keep entering your house, then the police would go away, eventually . If they are really smart, they would understand that if they can simply keep shooting and killing the police that are protecting your family, then it would be to expensive to keep funding your home. What would be the use, to save you. Just passify the criminals, give them what they want, let them kill who they like and maybe the problem will just go away. Perfect plan. I think he and many others are just trying to over throw the present government and people so that they can scare the individual citizens to giving all the power to the Congress and letting this intellilectual incompatant Gang control your life. Murtha's plan will only kill more of our troops, and build up the moral of the insurgences to expand their Holy War. Look I don't agree with Bush. I believe he should not have gone in to Iran, but to cut of funding, to the troops now is completely a murderous and treaderous move. This will only give aid and confidence to the Muslim Jidhadist that America is weak and if you keep killing enough of us, we will compitulate to their demands. What are their demands. Simple..convert to Muslim or die.

Any plans to bring reason into the present situation
will be cut down by the coming actions of the current administration when they invade IRAN before Summer

So, even though it will not happen-- the best moves
that could be being made at this present time
would be in finding a way to stop THAT before it happens
which in all actuality IS too late also --- it is a done deal !!!
So, buckle up gentlemen -- here we go into the abyss !!

This senator has more or less said that Bush does not need the permision of Congress to go to war - Heance the attempt to tie it to rest for the troops and so forth - Murtha is attempting to restore democracy to your nation and prevent Bush from going to war with Iran which likely will lead to the use of Mini nukes already reclassified as conventional because they are Get this "safe" and good for bunker busters

The 1 year deployment is going to be an issue. It's easy to argue that it takes a long time to train and that a 1 year deployment isn't sufficient to recover the "cost' of the training.

I think there needs to be adequate opportunity for choice. There are some people who are not cut out for traditional military service. However, there are plenty of other public good jobs that they could fill, instead.

we are losing the war because we have idiots in congress- congress runs the show for everyday life- the president runs the initial moments of troops.

if his plan is so good- where would we get all the troops to fight any war- we would need everybody to be in the military.

murtha has plenty of times shown himself to an idiot- yes he talks proper and he doesn't have an accent but the man is a fool.

Yes I do agree and I'm not a democrat . It's about time someone with some brain thought of a different way to go , instead of following lockstep one after the other .

Murtha has been making sense to me for a year and a half now, and apparently he has confidantes in the Pentagon, so I'm assuming that the military guys agree with and/or have contributed to his proposals as well. Now if he can only get enough people to listen!

Strange none of these people that label Murtha a traitor ever served in the military. That includes Bushy and pals.

Why isn't winning even considered by the left?
Why only retreat and surrender/cut and run are the only options even considered
Is it because they are surrender monkeys and anti-America at heart?
Or is it because they are cowards at heart and want everyone to be as unAmerican and cowardly as they are
