Wow, has anyone asked this question before? You Pitt. fans are morons. No, they cant make it to the Stanley Cup, cause they cant beat Buffalo, and that will be necessary.

They have a great chance of making it out of the first round, and maybe even making it to the Conference Finals, but they won't make it to the Stanley Cup Finals. They're an exciting team to watch offensively, all they need to do is get better on defense and they'll be a powerhouse.

At this point its possible. They have the confidence and drive. I see this playing out like Edmonton last year (goalie falls the rest follow kicking and screaming). They have the scoring depth coming from many angles but they cant keep the puck from the back of their own net. I see their goaltending as so-so with occasional hot streaks. Their defensive core often gets lost in the run and gun style and often get caught behind. Less they can milk the D for more and get Fleury to climb out of his inconsistency, they will be fun to watch while it lasts but the cup wont be pulled from the bottom of Marios pool this year

No, I think they are too young and inexperienced to win it this year. Maybe in the a year or two it will be their time. But a better question is whether they will hoist Lord Stanley's Cup in Pittsburgh or Kansas City? Remember, Super Mario and Company are saying, "No arena, no team!"

Not this year. They won't get past Buffalo. Needs a better defense and a goalie. Not going to get to the finals winning 7-6 every night.

Lord have mercy--this team could do anything.
I'm in Buffalo, I love my Sabs, but this team is so dynamic that I can't stop watching them.
They were amazing the other night against Chicago. I just sat watching with my mouth hanging down.
I would not underestimate them and you almost can't help but love them.

Yeah, but by then, the owners will have to announce that they are moving the team to Kansas City, so will anyone in Pittsburgh still care?

I'm a Pens fan so it pains me to say they won't. They've got the right elements working for them, but they more experience on their team and maybe some stronger defensive elements to pull everything together. Right now, they are playing out of their minds, but they probably aren't playoff ready yet.

If they play like they have been over the last 3 weeks, they have a chance to beat anyone in the NHL.
Omigod, now if we can just get the Pirates good again....
