You will find that these people don't give a rat's backside about unborn babies. It is all about controlling a woman's sexuality and making her subservient to men. Their thinking is that if women can have sex and not have babies, they have the same power as men.
These "pro lifers" are against all birth control as well as abortion. Who do you think these pharmacists are that are refusing to dispense Plan B? They say things like a bit of cells equal to mucus you blow out of your nose when you sneeze is equal to a baby.
These are also the people who are against welfare for women and born children. They want women under a man's control. It is all a scam!

well - only an individual can prevent things for himself.
in addition there needs to be sex education in schools and there needs to be a social system that makes it easier for women to have children instead of aborting them.
to prevent unwanted pregnancies all you can do is OFFER education in schools and the home. in some places they have actually had baby dolls that cry and act like a real baby given to some teens and had them take care of these "babies" for a weekend - another good idea.
you cannot prevent people having sex, you can not prevent unwanted pregnancies - but you can offer the environment where a pregnancy might not be "unwanted" i.e. better social services, maternity leave, child- and healthcare - affordable housing and the like - but you need to go to europe to find that.

Because that is not reality. People really aren't that smart or responsible. I don't think that should be decided by the government anyway. It is a personal decision, even though I don't believe in it . If the government wants to do any good, the money they would spend supporting all these unwanted babies they should spend on educating young people and free birth control.

Also, you do realize that abortion is not done only because of an unwanted pregnancy? What about severe birth defects? What about women whose lives are at risk?

intahresting... possibly, possibly no longer. It looked like abortion incredibly at the instant became criminal (the Seventies, so yeah that's incredibly cutting-edge). yet undesirable pregnancies have long gone up from then, i think of. Mabye I could study this somewhat extra until eventually now answering haha it is the comparable question that they had previously whilst with banning alcohol. I know many Christian programs that attempt to curtail unwanted pregnancies. I am all for birth control and sex ed. I am also for pushing for abstinence.
I think the Abortionist lobby is so large because they sell the bodies of the unborn Children they kill to medical labs. There, they turn it into health care and beauty products.
Simply, it is big business.

Most anti abortionist don`t want to pay in taxes for the social program you suggest. They would rather outlaw it because it is easier then fixing the problem just like illegal immigration, build a fence but they don`t lock up the Americans that knowingly hire them.

Sometime thing gets out of control (rape, miscalculation or surprises...). Therefore, things can never be prevented 100%. We may apply more law to limit these events like death penalty to all rapists! But the best thing to do is to improve the morality of the people!

EXACTLY!! you are so right! funny...often those that disagree with abortion also disagree with birth control...nuts isnt it? abortion will never be outlawed...not in this day and age..sometimes i'm afraid to say - its necessary. so many live by the doctrine of a man who makes the rules but doesnt play the game!!

Because birth control allows people to have sex. The whole idea behind this way of thought is that you must be chaste until marriage and even then only have sex for procreation. Getting pregnant is God's punishment for fooling around.
