Hello there! :)
I sure hope you're doing well. :)
First, 1 foot = 30.48 cm &
1 mile = 160934.4 cm
So, by cross multiplication, we find that 1 mile = 5280 feet.
Since the ball was clocked at 90 miles, that means it was going at 475200 feet. And 1 hour is obviously 3600 seconds.
So now we've got: In 3600 seconds it travels at 475200 feet, while in X seconds it travels 90 feet.
So, once again, by cross multiplication, we get:
–
X = 0.6818 seconds. (Note: The dash over the 18 means it repeats!)
I hope this helps and is clear enough. :) Good luck, take care and have a great day. :)
Cheers! :)

There are 5280 feet per mile. Therefore 90 MPH X 5280 feet per mile = 475200 feet per hour.
475200 feet per hour divided by 60 = 7920 feet per minute.
7920 feet per minute divided by 60 = 132 feet per second is the speed of the ball.
90 divided by 132 = .6818 seconds, the time it took the ball to get to the plate.

90 mph * 5280ft/mi * 1hr/3600 sec = 132 ft/sec
For 90 feet, this would take 0.68 sec (90ft/132ft/sec)
NOTE: It is 60ft from the mound to home. Then it would take 0.45sec (60/132)
