After. Why would you want to take a shower before you go and get all sweaty? As for the relaxation thing, that is just personal preference whether it relaxes you or not.

You can take a shower before you workout and then after you workout. However, don't take a cold shower if you are very hot from working out. It could cause bloodclots. Cool off first.

But you have to wait a while until you shower after you work out. because when you work out, you sweat, when you sweat, the tiny holes in your body will open wider which increase the chance of getting more sweat. I'd wait until the hole closes back up, you don`t want to get water in those holes because it can make you sick. Also, taking a shower after working out can make you feel so fresh and clean. Hot water can relaxes you but not too hot ok? ....

Take a cold shower afterwards. This will relax your muscles and loosen any cramps. It is also good to take a nap after you work out.
