I think women need to stay home with their children. If women wouldn't have made a career their priority over their families, everything wouldn't be so darn expensive. Now families have to have two incomes just to get by.

Sounds good anyway.

I think that men will always dominate the work force because that's just the way society is. Even in the year 2007, the most common jobs for women are still secretary, nurse or teacher. Women are nurturers and caregivers by nature; men are more likely to be "go getters", bread winners or providers. But there's also nothing wrong with a little role reversal from time to time.

I am a woman, I think most woman can do as good a job as men in most jobs. Some of us women are tom boys so we can do most out door jobs just like men do. Women are just as smart as men and think more than men when having to make decisions. I still believe men dominate the work force because for some strange reason society believes a man should be the provider for his family. I think some men can do a better job at raising children, cooking, and cleaning than some woman. I think equal opportunity should be available in businesses where both men and women can work just as hard as the next. Right now I gave up my job making great money in a precessing plant for post office to be a foster parent. I love my new job and miss my old one. Interacting with other adults in the work force is needed .

I not working at the moment, I'm home with my baby but I can't wait to go back to work. I don't now how women in the old days handled staying home day in, day out. I think in most cases women have equal opportunities but I think there are women out there that abuse that. I think men will always dominate the workforce. But that's not really a bad thing. Women have the babies, women are the nurturers and men the providers. It's in our blood. Some families the roles are reversed, but you just have to do what works for you.

I think woman in the work-world are a big gift and a good step for a company to take if they dont want to be ruthless. Successful women in the work-world are sometimes seen as bitches but because they have to be or they will be seen as push-overs. Therefore I dont think they have equal opportunity and are always under scrutiny. I have seen woman owned companies and they are very successful and the employees are always happy.

Overall men do dominate the workforce (white men more so) but soon I think we'll see more people of color in the force and I say we should welcome that- since the view-points and perspectives vary amongst ethnicities and genders and the company can hence be more successful as they broaden to different groups of people.

I work for a very large company, which, like all large companies, has a commitment to diversity. There are many female senior managers and visible minorities in my workplace. My manager is a female, and so is her manager. (I do not work in a female-dominated "caring" sector, either.)

However, executive level is still mainly dominated by old white men. Of all the executives I know of in my company (by that I mean VPs, Heads, and CIO, CFO, etc), there is one woman, one visible minority male, and the rest are white men.

Since women weren't a huge part of the labour force until the 1980's, that does not distress me too much. (Though I would love to see more women and visible minorities in executive positions.) If we're in the same situation in 10-15 years, then something is *really* wrong.

Good worker bees. Increases demand for work pushes the prices down and unlike men, women are 10 times less likely to stir troubel, like forming an union going on strike demanding higher pay.

Hm.I have a family of one student.Had to work to take care of the homefront.Wasn't going to risk marriaging a person and them being an a...h.... . I haven't had much luck in the attachment dept. so I have to work.Besides,I'm too indipendant to rely on a male. Some(not all)males have a tendancy to think us women can't make it without them.Guess I've proven them wrong.
My opinion. In some places I think maby not the males that run places but the (not so nice females).I've herd it said more than once the more you 'do' the more 'pull' you have.(sad for the ones who are on the job just for the paycheck.)

I had a very good career for awhile before starting my own business, and I was always treated very well with regards to respecting my ideas, etc.

HOWEVER. When working with men who are all close friends in a small department, which I did for awhile, the harrassment is inevitable, although most of it was purely unintentional and just "guy talk" when I happened to be around.

It's not opinion that matters: it's concrete evidence:

“THE WAGE GAP FAVORING MEN DOESN’T JUST HURT WOMEN’S PAY, ACCORDING TO NEW RESEARCH”
Pay of Both Men and Women Managers is Less When Managers’ Subordinates, Peers and Supervisors are Women, Study Finds”

http://www.apa.org/releases/wagegap.html

EDIT:
I say that MEN "...are 20 times less likely to stir troubel, like forming an union going on strike demanding higher pay."

HEY, IF THE REST OF THEM CAN MAKE IT UP AS THEY GO ALONG - THEN SO CAN I.

I think that it is great that women work! I am in the Army, and there are still positions and schools that I can not attend. There are jobs for all sorts...men and women equal and some unequal. Everyone should be treated equally. I still do not see why women can't go to combat! I am a Soldier and I will fight as a woman!!!
