It is nice of you to be concerned with your friends happiness....but you erned the part. You friend should be happy for you...and if he/she isn't happy for you that says a lot about the type of person that they are. If you are more concerned about they're happiness than yours you could talk to the Drama Teacher and see if you could share the part...You could perform in half the shows your friend could do the other half. Personally I don't think you should be submissive...you should keep the part for yourself.

Oh, it's quite a sticky situation.
Keep the part, congratulations on earning it!
I'm sure your friend will get to do something for the play.Just remember that a real friend would be happy for you and wouldn't want you to lose something so special to you.

well once my friend almost got the part !but my other friend wanted it too!so when my second friend got it the other was like:thanks alot , now you ruined my acting career i was like:what the hell its a school play!so any ways friend 1 was being all bitchy !if that doesn't help I'm sorry!
