European cars are built for high speed performance and handling( due to the high rates of spped they can travel on the Autohbahns). The standard american car is built for comfort, style, and looks. However, the american car builders a leaning more towards performance nad handling, nowadays. Cheers!

Europeans, quite simply, have a different build philosophy than Americans do. They value different ride qualities in their cars, which makes for a different overall design platform and production method.

I think craftsmanship and design are the two major areas where Europeans and Americans differ. Not to say that one market builds better cars than the other, but that they both do things differently to achieve the final product that epitomizes what they like.

It may also be cultural--Americans, historically, have always enjoyed large cars that "float" down the road, where Europeans tend to favor smaller, tighter-handling, more fuel-efficient cars. Needless to say the markets they're both building for are very different. :)

Difference in craftsman ship and a different philosophy when it comes to designing and building cars. My father had a Mercedes and after I drove an American car for a while and then drove his car, you could really tell how much better his car was. The response was better, the steering tighter, even the doors closed better.

My guess would be that American cars ARE different from European cars...that's probably why they feel different. :)

I love my Chevy...but I'd give it up in a second to have my old Benz 300SD back again.

Cannot figure out what you mean by "feel different".
Handles differently?
interior feels differently because of the upholstry?
The exterior feels differently, maybe something is not polished correctly.
Anyway, cannot figure the question out.

They are all about the same. You can't tell the difference without looking at the name pasted on it
